The Pursuit of Excellence: Where does your lab rank on the quality continuum?

The Pursuit of Excellence: Where does your lab rank on the quality continuum?

Building on existing models and incorporating years of laboratory quality management experience in a variety of clinical laboratories at different stages of their quality journeys, Jennifer Dawson, Vice President of Quality & Regulatory Affairs at Sonic Reference Laboratory, identified distinct phases of laboratory quality and organized them into phases comprising a continuum.

The Lab Quality Continuum is a tool to aid laboratories in determining their current level of quality, as it categorizes phases of laboratory quality along an ascending scale, and delineates the characteristics of each phase. It is important to remember that each phase of the continuum builds upon the previous. A laboratory must meet all of the requirements for each phase before moving on to the next.

Take The Lab Quality Continuum Self- Assessment to gain an understanding of where your clinical laboratory currently stands on the continuum and the characteristics associated with its current level. The self-assessment also provides recommendations to help your laboratory on its journey to climb the continuum.
